Carrier directoryWhy an Independent Agent?
Why should I use an independent company as opposed to going directly through one of the large insurance companies I see advertised all the time?
The answer is simple: different people and different businesses have unique needs when it comes to insurance. We offer a wide variety of insurance options and add-ons backed by many of the big names you know and are familiar with. Why not go directly through them? You can, any time. However, with a local Capital Partners agent, you have the benefit of someone who can come assess your needs, or invite you into our Ormond Beach office any time you need us. Not happy with the coverage you're receiving from one of the major companies we work with, but love your agent? We don't have to part ways — we can simply look at another carrier and begin a new policy!
We pride ourselves on being Ormond Beach's insurance experts. Not only can we provide you with a top-notch policy to protect you, your business, and your belongings, we also take the opportunity to advise you on the best ways to keep those things safe.
The bottom line: we are local, affordable, and we work to keep you, your family, your business, and your belongings protected.

Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started
An independent agent like Capital Partners Insurance represents multiple insurance carriers — not just one. We shop your coverage across 20+ carriers to find the best rate and coverage for your situation. A captive agent can only offer products from a single company. With us, if your carrier raises rates or changes coverage, we simply move you to a better option without you having to find a new agent.
Getting a quote is easy. Call us at (386) 672-2827, fill out our online quote form, or stop by our Ormond Beach office. For homeowners insurance we'll need your property address, year built, and current coverage details. For auto, we'll need your driver's license and vehicle information. Most quotes are ready within 24 hours.
For homeowners: property address, year built, construction type, square footage, and any recent upgrades (roof, windows, A/C). For auto: driver's license number, vehicle year/make/model/VIN, and your current policy if you have one. For business insurance: business type, annual revenue, number of employees, and location.
Home & Property
Yes — we strongly recommend it. About 25% of all flood claims come from properties outside high-risk flood zones. Florida's flat terrain and heavy rainfall make flooding a real risk everywhere in the state. Federal flood insurance through the NFIP typically starts around $400–$600/year for lower-risk properties. It's one of the most overlooked and important coverages in Florida.
Wind mitigation refers to features of your home that reduce damage from high winds — impact-resistant windows, hurricane straps, a hip roof, or reinforced garage doors. A licensed inspector evaluates your home and issues a wind mitigation report. Depending on your home's features, this can reduce your hurricane premium by 20–40% or more. We strongly recommend getting one before your next renewal.
Florida's insurance market has faced significant pressure in recent years — increased hurricane frequency, litigation costs, and reinsurance price increases have all pushed premiums higher across the board. The good news: as an independent agency, we can re-shop your coverage across multiple carriers to find a better rate. Call us before your renewal and we'll review your options.
A standard Florida homeowners policy covers your dwelling structure, personal belongings, liability, and additional living expenses if you're displaced. It does NOT cover flooding (requires a separate flood policy) or earth movement. Many policies also carry a separate, higher deductible for hurricane damage. We recommend reviewing your policy with us annually so you know exactly what you have.
Auto Insurance
Florida requires a minimum of $10,000 in Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and $10,000 in Property Damage Liability (PDL). Florida is a no-fault state, meaning your own PIP coverage pays your medical bills regardless of who caused the accident. However, these minimums are quite low — we recommend adding Bodily Injury Liability and higher limits to properly protect your assets.
PIP covers 80% of your medical expenses and 60% of lost wages if you're injured in an auto accident, regardless of fault. It's required in Florida and applies to you, relatives living in your household, and passengers without their own PIP. It kicks in before your health insurance does for accident-related injuries.
Yes — we strongly recommend it. Florida has one of the highest rates of uninsured drivers in the country (roughly 1 in 5). Uninsured motorist coverage protects you if you're hit by a driver with no insurance or not enough to cover your damages. Without it, you could be left paying your own medical bills and repair costs after an accident that wasn't your fault.
Filing a Claim
First, make sure everyone is safe. Then: (1) Document all damage with photos and video before cleaning anything up. (2) Make temporary repairs to prevent further damage and save all receipts. (3) Call your carrier's claims line — numbers are on our Claims Hub page. (4) Call us — we'll help you understand the process and advocate on your behalf if needed. Don't let adjusters rush you into a settlement.
It depends on the damage amount relative to your deductible and how it might affect your future premiums. For minor damage close to your deductible, paying out of pocket often makes sense. For significant damage well above your deductible, filing is almost always the right call. When in doubt, call us first — we can help you think it through before you decide.
Simple claims (minor water damage, small auto accidents) are often settled within 1–3 weeks. Complex claims — major storm damage, total losses, disputed liability — can take months. Florida law requires carriers to acknowledge a claim within 14 days and pay or deny within 90 days. If your claim is taking longer than expected, contact us and we'll help you follow up with the carrier.
Managing Your Policy
Call us at (386) 672-2827 or email us and we'll handle it. Common changes include adding or removing vehicles or drivers, updating your address, adding a new property, adjusting coverage limits, or adding an umbrella policy. Most changes take effect immediately or within one business day.
That's exactly where having an independent agent works in your favor. If your carrier raises rates, provides poor service, or stops writing in your area, we can re-shop your coverage across our 20+ carrier network and move you to a better option — without you having to find a new agent. Just call us and we'll do the work.
At least once a year, ideally before your renewal date. You should also review coverage after any major life change: buying or renovating a home, purchasing a new vehicle, getting married, starting a business, having a child, or a significant change in income. Call us for a free annual review — it takes about 20 minutes and could save you money.
Tell us what you need updated.
Add a vehicle, swap a driver, change a beneficiary — we'll handle it.
